A. Pre-University (Kijang Emas & Kijang scholarship)
(Application will be closed 7 days after the SPM 2013 results is released) |
Cambridge A-Level and American Degree Foundation Program and South Australian Matriculation Program |
For the Pre-University level, there are two (2) types of scholarship available for eligible candidates:
Kijang Emas Scholarship
Kijang Emas scholarship is awarded to the top SPM 2013 students.
The Kijang Emas recipients are given the freedom to pursue their own field of study in top universities in any country of their choice.
Requirements for Kijang Emas Scholarship include:
- Straight A+ in 2013 SPM examination
- Not exceeding 19 years of age on 1 July 2014
- Strong leadership qualities, high teamwork capabilities, excel in both extra-curricular activities and sports
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Sponsorship to pursue Bachelor Degree (Honours) will be extended subject to meeting the Bank’s approved criteria.
Kijang Scholarship
Kijang scholarship is awarded to eligible individuals to pursue pre-university and subsequently undergraduate studies in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science and Law at selected leading universities locally and globally.
Requirements for Kijang Scholarship include:
- Minimum 8As (A and A+ only) in 2013 SPM examination
- Not exceeding 19 years of age on 1 July 2014
- Strong leadership qualities, high teamwork capabilities, excel in both extra-curricular activities and sports
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Sponsorship to pursue Bachelor Degree (Honours) will be extended subject to meeting the Bank’s approved criteria.
B. Undergraduate (Honours)
(Application will be closed 7 days after the SPM 2013 results is released)

The Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to an eligible individual who has received an offer to pursue or is currently pursuing Undergraduate studies in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science and Law at selected leading universities locally and overseas.
Candidates must fulfill the following minimum requirements:
- STPM / A-Level – at least 2 A and 1 B ; or
- Diploma / Matriculation – Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.50 ; or
- South Australian Matriculation – ATAR of at least 85% ; or
- American Foundation Program – SAT1 score of at least 1200 ; or
- For candidates currently pursuing Undergraduate – Current CGPA of at least 3.50
- Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects
- Not exceeding 25 years of age on 1 July 2014
- Obtained an offer to pursue or is currently pursuing Undergraduate studies in 2014 from the Bank’s list of approved universities
Additional requirements include:
- Strong leadership qualities, high teamwork capabilities, excel in both extra-curricular activities and sports
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
C. Postgraduate (Master and PhD)

The Postgraduate Scholarship is awarded to an eligible individual who has received an offer to pursue or is currently pursuing Postgraduate studies in the following field of studies at selected leading universities locally and overseas:
- Economics
- Econometrics
- Monetary Economics
- International Economics
- Banking and Finance
- International Finance
- Quantitative Finance
- Law
- Banking and Finance Law
- International Law
- Risk Management
- Forensic Accounting
- Islamic Finance
Candidates must fulfill the following minimum requirements:
- Obtained a First Class (Honours) Bachelor / Master’s Degree from recognised local and overseas universities
- Not exceeding 30 years old for Master and 35 years old for PhD on 1 July 2014
- Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects
- Obtained an offer to pursue or is currently pursuing Postgraduate studies in 2014 from the Bank’s list of approved universities
Additional requirements include:
- Strong leadership qualities, high teamwork capabilities, excel in both extra-curricular activities and sports
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Those who fulfilled the minimum requirements are required to apply online via Bank Negara Malaysia’s website. For postgraduate application, please submit one (1) page thesis summary of your proposed research to the following address:
